No guesswork. No black boxes. Here's the exact formula behind every Build Plate valuation — and every rule in place to keep it honest.
// OC Appraisal Formula
Estimated Value =
(Condition-Adj Base × Scarcity × Age Factor)
+ (Documented Bonus × Reputation Weight)
+ (Investment Recoup × Verified Fraction)
− Transaction Costs
Condition-Adjusted Base × Scarcity × Age Factor
Starts from recent real-world sales data for similar rigs. Adjusted for how well-maintained it is, how rare the configuration is, and natural depreciation over time.
+ Documented Bonus × Reputation Weight
Builds with complete mod logs, photos, and real community daps earn a documentation bonus. Daps from ≥25 unique users unlock full reputation weight — fake or botted engagement doesn't count.
+ Investment Recoup × Verified Fraction
A portion of your actual spend on parts recovers in the valuation — but only if those parts are linked to a Vendor catalog or confirmed by a Builder. Unverified costs count for less.
− Transaction Costs (6.5%)
Realistic selling fees are subtracted at the end. What you see is what you'd likely clear, not the sticker price.

Every appraisal comes with a Confidence Score showing how much trust to place in the estimate. It goes up when you do the work — and drops when data is missing.
The Starship Score projects your build's value at 6, 12, and 18 months. It requires 90 days of real activity before it unlocks — so you can't game it on day one.

Every public Build Plate has a cryptographic SHA-256 fingerprint computed from its ID, mod log, dap count, and estimated value. If any of that data changes, the hash changes — making tampering immediately detectable.
Anyone can independently compute this hash and compare it against what's shown on the verification page — no need to trust Off Com's servers. This is off-chain verification today, with on-chain migration planned once blockchain infrastructure is in place.
